Decision
My brother is studying Finance and Economics in UK, and we have always had the plan to visit him plus tour around London and maybe some other nearby countries. Once I've decided to resign from Macau in May, my mum proceeded to purchase flights towards London in June 2017. I am so psyched!

My brother has suggested to visit Italy and Spain as well, but we don't have any solid plans yet. I have sketched some places to visit in London, but nothing detailed was decided for Italy and Spain. But I definitely want to visit Rome. We are looking at using trains as the mode of transport from London to Italy and Spain, but as I mentioned, nothing is finalized just yet. We need to do more research on that.
Updates on 22nd Apr 17:
We realized that trains from London to Italy are horrendously expensive and time consuming. So we'll be flying over instead. And I've decided to separate London, Italy and Spain into 3 different travel blogs. So this is dedicated to London and London only.
If you look at the dates above, you'll realize that it was split into 2 time frames. That's because in between 17th June and 1st July, we'll be in Italy and Spain.
I've written down the places that I'd like to visit in London, and the one that I'm most psyched about, is Borough Market. Why? Food, duh! The attractions in London are pretty much close to each other, so it'll take less time travelling between places, which I appreciate a lot. And I'm also digging out the must-eat-snacks and places to eat in London. I hope I'll be able to sketch up a good itinerary soon.
I've also reserved a WiFi router for the entire Europe trip (including UK, Italy, Spain etc) from Travel Recommends. The price was at MYR26 per day, and it's a promotional price (Original price is at MYR40 per day). On top of that, I need to place a deposit of MYR200, which is refundable to my bank account upon the return of their router.

Game Plan
I packed light for my trip, mainly cause it's summer. I only brought t-shirts, shorts, singlets, dresses, and some warm clothing cause my mum insisted. Apparently London is still chilly at night. My luggage is only half full, cause I need to carry my mum's luggage as well. She hurt her back a few weeks before, and she is now forbidden to carry anything at all, including my nephew. So everything needs to be as light as possible, hence I've only packed what I'd use during the trip.
My sister bought me a Bobby compact anti-theft backpack. I chose for the backpack to be in pastel blue, and I love it!

It even comes with a small pouch thingie that contains a recyclable bag! The recyclable bag came in handy in Europe cause most grocery stores charge a fee for plastic bags.
Bobby also came with a rain cloak to protect Bobby from the rain! How convenient is that?!
I felt so safe carrying my Bobby around cause it's proven to be anti theft, anti cut and with hidden zippers! Check them out on their website by XD design!

Other than that, I've brought along my trusty stretchable waist pouch that has traveled everywhere with me, and also my scarf that was always used to cover the stuffs inside my backpack. It serves as an extra protection in case someone tries to pickpocket my Bobby.
London Time Zone : GMT +1 (7 hours slower than Malaysia)
London Temperature during trip : 22-25°C during the day, might drop to 13-15°C at night.
Just in case you guys are wondering whether to get a plan with unlimited data or if a certain data limit is enough for your travel needs, I have included a record of our data usage beneath the dates. That is based on the amount of data we used on our WiFi Router per day.

13th June - Tuesday
Penang - Kuala Lumpur - London
We had breakfast at home and departed for the airport around 4:30am. We performed online check-in the day before, in hope that we'll be able to avoid the long check-in queue at the airport. Unfortunately, they did not separate the check-in queue from the bag drop queue, so we still had to wait together with everyone else. Fortunately there weren't too many people, yet.
Once we're done with our luggage drop, we entered the departure hall and waited for our boarding announcement at the Plaza Premium Lounge. I had mushroom soup and pie while waiting. *I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of my food!*
Anyway, our flight took off and landed just fine. Our transit flight was 2 hours away so we didn't have to rush to our next departure gate in KLIA. We wanted to take a rest at the Plaza Premium Lounge in KLIA however it was fully seated, so we went straight to our departure gate instead.
My uncle booked seats on the upper deck for us, so we could wait at the less crowded waiting lounge together with the Business Class passengers.
Our flight was scheduled to depart at 9:55am, but it took off slightly later.

It was my first Malaysia Airlines experience so I was very excited! There's definitely more leg space than my usual budget flights. The plane seating is on a 2-4-2 arrangement, and we were seated in the center row, with me by the aisle. There's a USB charging pod as well!
The flight will take approximately 13 hours, and we were served 2 meals and some snacks in between. My first meal was chicken noodles + bread and butter + chicken salad + dessert pie + crackers and cheese. They served coffee or tea together with our meal.
A few hours later, they distributed a pack of snacks which consists of fruit cake + an assortment pack of nuts. They offered beverages every now and then too, cause you'll get really thirsty from the long flight.
My second meal was prawn noodles + bread and butter + fruits + chocolate cake, whilst my mum had chicken curry and rice.
I loved their cutlery sets, cause it looks 'meh' but was actually very sturdy and firm.

I know I'm not the only one, but I still wanna say that I LOVE in-flight meals. There's just something about compact meals that appeal to me.
We finally arrived London Heathrow Airport at GMT +8, 11:35pm (Malaysia time zone), or GMT +1, 4:35pm (London time zone). We arrived on time despite the late departure!
We were given the UK Landing Card on board to fill in, which looks like this:

Sorry for the blurred picture. I had shaky hands.
Visitors will have to fill in the Landing Card with CAPITAL LETTERS only.
It took us almost an hour to go through immigration and to collect our luggage. The officer asked questions like why are you here? Do you have anyone you know here? Who? Why? What? Where? Which? Just answer them as how you would usually answer to the people you know. There's no reason to be afraid of anything.
My cousin brother arranged for a car to fetch us back to their apartment. The meeting time with our driver was set at 1 hour after our flight's estimated time arrival (ETA). We looked all over the arrival hall for a board with my name on it, but we couldn't see any. My uncle gave us his UK SIM card to be used during emergencies, and my cousin brother provided the driver with that UK number to contact us in case we couldn't find each other.
My mum missed a call from the driver cause she was on the phone with dad. So we called him back and apparently the driver also called my cousin brother cause he couldn't contact us. After everything was sorted out, we waited for him in front of Costa Coffee. We finally met up with the driver at 5:50pm and we were finally on our way to the apartment.
But wait, there's more! The driver doesn't know how to go to the apartment, even though the address has already been stated clearly when my cousin made the booking! His GPS couldn't find the postcode, and he kept asking for another postcode nearby the apartment. Like HELLO! We're freaking tourists, how are we supposed to know the postcodes nearby? Aren't you supposed to be doing some homework before picking us up? It's not as if we changed our destination last minute! You should know about your destination when you were given the task to pick us up.
Gosh.
After some struggling around, finally he was willing enough to use his phone's GPS to search for the postcode, and guess what? The location did freaking appear on his phone! Ugghhh! What was all the struggle for anyway?
I was so frustrated because I left my WiFi router in my suitcase which was placed inside the car boot, because I thought: oh nothing will go wrong during the road trip! We will be looking at the beautiful scenery and we will arrive at the apartment in no time! Well EVERYTHING went wrong!
My mum couldn't reach into the boot and take my suitcase out because of her back problem, and I couldn't reach for it because I'm stuck in the freaking front seat!!
I was so frustrated and irritated cause there's a solution to the problem, but I could't get my hands on that solution, and I could only blame myself for it!
DAMN IT!
Okay, chill. Calm down. There's no need to get so worked up on it. It's all in the past now. Phew.
Anyhow, we finally reached the apartment ONE hour later, and paid £40.85 in cash for that frustrating ride.
My uncle's apartment is so lovely. It's small, but I've stayed in smaller places. I love the apartment. It has a living room, a kitchenette, a bathroom and a bedroom. They installed a king-sized bed in the bedroom; A sofa and also an extendable bed in the living room. So in total, 5 persons can sleep comfortably in the apartment.
I've thought about it, and decided to not post pictures of my uncle's apartment for privacy.
After settling down, we went for dinner at a Chinese restaurant called XiAn Impression 西安印象 at 7:30pm.

We ordered Yang Zhou Fried Rice, QiShan Noodles with Minced Pork and Seaweed and rice vermicelli soup which totals up to £19.10. The dishes were good, and it's the only place we know that opens for dinner.
After dinner, we walked to WaitRose supermarket to buy some fruits. My mum also bought the cheddar cheese that my uncle likes, and some packet coffee as souvenirs. It all totals up to £34.89.
I brought my backpack along so we didn't have to pay extra for plastic bags. We used the self check out counter but the machine did not accept my mum's credit card, so the store assistant took our receipt and charged my mum's card at another counter. |
We went back home after that. My cousins were not home so it's just my mum and I in the apartment. My mum slept early, while I looked through the brochures and maps that I took from the airport.

Data Usage - 229.88MB (2 persons - Google Search, CityMapper, Google Maps, Social Media excl. YouTube)
We have not adjusted to the London timing yet, so we woke up super early in the morning. We heated up the leftover food from yesterday's dinner and had it for breakfast.
By 8am, we went out and took Bus 43 to Monument Station to visit the London Bridge.

!-LONDON BUS FACT-!
Above shows the London public bus. You MUST have a contactless card/Oyster Card or any other form of eligible tourist passes in order to ride the bus. The driver DOES NOT sell any tickets or card top-ups on board.
London buses have a fixed charge of £1.50 per ride. Hence you'll only need to tap in ONCE when you board the bus. There is NO NEED to tap out when you get off.
!-USEFUL LONDON APP-!
Citymapper is the best app to be used in London, in my opinion.
Well I didn't try any other apps in London cause Citymapper already fulfilled all my needs. It suggests routes that you can take to get to your desired destination. It even shows you the scheduled bus arrivals so you can plan your journey better.
The app is pretty straight forward. Just type in your destination and all possible routes will be displayed. Follow the map to the suggested bus stop/metro station and wait for your ride. That's it!
The app is available for both Andriod and IOS!

We alighted at Monument station just so we could walk across the London Bridge. I was hoping to get a good shot of the Tower Bridge from there, but the Tower Bridge was too far from it. Sobs.
London Bridge has always been the most talked about bridge because of the song 'London Bridge is Falling Down'. But most people thought that the Tower Bridge was London Bridge because London Bridge is the most well known bridge name and the Tower Bridge is the famous image of London. Hence the misconception.
Anyway, they're just two different bridges.
From there, we walked towards Tower Bridge. It was a 10 minute walk along River Thames.

It was so surreal to be standing next to the Tower Bridge! It looked exactly like the pictures, except much grander. If that makes sense. And it's outlined in blue!
After that, I visited the Tower of London while my mum waited for me at a coffee shop nearby. She bought a tomato and cheese panini for ₤4.5 and a cup of Americano.
While I was walking towards the ticket kiosk, I thought to myself: Huh, I suppose the ticket won’t cost much. I mean, how expensive can it be?
₤28. Including a donation for the preservation of the tower. That’s like MYR156!
I almost coughed up blood. But I guess it's unavoidable. So I paid, went through a security check and started exploring the tower!

The tower was used as a fortress, a prison and they even kept exotic animals for a period of time. There are many areas that visitors aren't allowed in, so stick to the route that was laid out for you.
There’s a pathway that shows where the archers defend their tower from. Small triangular holes were carved on the wooden board as aiming holes.
There’s also a stretch of residential houses on the common ground. They’re beautiful!
There was an exhibition called ‘The Crowned Jewels’, and they displayed the crowns and scepters of various Kings and Queens. Pictures are not allowed to be taken, so there aren’t anything to show you guys regarding the exhibition.
I also went into the White Tower to look at the armors and weapons used during the wars. There was a giant dragon on display that looked so much more bad ass than any dragon could ever be. He had rifles for claws, axes for spikes and scrolls for tail.
Also, there are guided tours by staffs who dresses in classic outfits. There was also a performance outside the white tower when I was leaving the place.
Even though I spent 2 hours in there, I could barely cover half of what was offered.
After meeting up with my mum, we walked towards the Tower Hill tube station to catch the train towards Westminster.

We visited the Westminster Palace, Big Ben and the London Eye. Actually we just looked at the buildings from the street. We were looking for a place for lunch but most of the places were full and we'll need to wait for the other diners to finish eating.
Hence, we settled for McDonald's. The queue was INSANE but luckily the service was fast. I ordered chicken burgers for both of us, one with the set, and one just the burger. It costs ₤8.80.
After lunch, we walked over to Westminster Abbey. The place is breathtakingly beautiful! The design of the church is so unique and just...Wow. They charges for admission, so we just took pictures and left.

My ex-colleague has been telling me about 10 Downing Street ever since I told him that I'm coming to London. So I followed Google Maps towards the location.
Little did I know, the place was surrounded by metal gates and armed guards. But of course! It’s not just beautiful houses, it's also the HQ of the UK government and the official residence of the British Prime Minister. People are crowding around the gate to catch a glimpse of it!

We left after taking a few pictures. We proceeded down the main road towards Trafalgar Square. This square appeals to me because of its name: Trafalgar. Where all my One Piece homies at?
We also visited the National Gallery which is just behind Trafalgar Square.
I adore buildings that have Roman columns built in. The columns make the building look antique.

I went in and I only searched for paintings and sculptures that has Greek/Roman God influence. I mean, that’s the only thing that is familiar to me. I don’t know how to appreciate or decipher good paintings, hence I’ll just look for themes that I know of.
The interior of the museum is so grand! Even if you're not interested in paintings and sculptures, just go in and take a look at their ceilings. It's free anyway! Visitors will need to go pass a security check, but that's no hassle at all!
After the gallery, we walked to Chinatown for dinner. We settled for the Four Seasons Restaurant that sells the roast duck that my uncle loves dearly. It was only 3:15pm, so we shared a plate of fried seafood udon. They serves sliced oranges on the house at the end of our meal.

We ordered roasted duck, roasted pork, and shredded pork noodles for take away as our dinner. I forgot to record the total cost of our meal though.
Before leaving Chinatown, I bought myself a chocolate mouse drink from ChaTime cause I saw someone else drinking it. It costs ₤3.45.
We then walked towards Picadilly Circus and took the tube back home.

London - Southampton - London
Data Usage - 243.05MB (2 persons - Google Search, Google Maps, Social Media excl. YouTube)
We planned to visit my brother at Southampton today. My brother bought the National Express bus tickets to and from University of Southampton for us, which costs only ₤5 per way per person; and according to my uncle, that's the cheapest rate we could get for that route.
We had yesterday dinner's leftover roast duck and pork as breakfast, again. The portions are huge in London!
By 7:20am, we departed from the apartment and took the tube towards King's Cross station, and then transferred to another tube line towards Victoria Station.

We reached Victoria train station at 8am, and followed the street signs towards Victoria Coach Station, which is a 5-minutes walk away. We looked at the monitor for our platform number, and proceeded to wait there for the boarding announcement. We boarded the bus at 8:40pm by showing them our printed confirmation. Apparently you could just show them the confirmation on your phone as well. |
The bus is arranged in a 2-2 seat formation, and it's quite comfortable as we chose the only pair of seats with extra leg space. It's a 2 hour journey, so we slept almost the entire way.
We arrived at a bus stop near University of Southampton at 11:15am. Bro was there waiting for us and brought us for lunch at a Chinese Restaurant called 新世界, which translates as New World.
We ordered 水煮鱼 'Fish Fillets in hot chili oil', 椒盐虾 'Pepper and Salt Prawns' and Stir Fried Vegetable. We each had one bowl of rice, and you can choose between fried rice and plain rice at the same price. And their rice bowls are so cute! Our meal costs ₤19+.

After lunch, bro took us on a tour around the campus. We even visited the library where bro gave me his student ID to enter and look around. The library is very cozy and equipped with a lot of group study rooms and movable shelves (SO COOL!).
After almost 2 hours of walking around the campus, we bought day trip bus tickets that costs ₤3.50 per person from the bus driver. We then rode for 10 minutes until we arrived at bro's hostel.
We helped him to pack as he needs to remove all his belongings from his dorm for summer break. He arranged for somebody to pick-up and store his belongings at a price.
So after packing, we headed to the city center by bus. We stopped by a gelato cafe called Sprinkles Gelato and bought 3 cones of different flavored gelatos. Mine was blue banana.

We then visited the mall and some nearby places but we did not buy anything.
We had dinner at Gourmet Burger. The restaurant has a high ceiling and is very spacious.
We ordered Johnny Be Goat Burger (vegetarian) ₤8.85, Satay Chicken Burger ₤9.65, Cajun Blue Chicken Burger ₤9.35, skinny fries ₤3.30 and tap water. It comes to a total of ₤31.15.

We rested at the restaurant until it's time to leave. We took the bus to go back to the same stop where the National Express bus has dropped us off earlier. The bus arrived around 7:20pm instead of 7:10pm and it's already half full.

We slept through the journey cause we were tired from walking around Southampton.
We arrived Victoria coach station at 9pm and requested for an Uber. It took us almost 20 minutes to get an Uber cause 2 drivers canceled on us and we had to search for new ones. Finally an Uber driver named Tarek with a Prius came for us and we arrived home 30 minutes later, which costs ₤15.39.

My plan was to watch the Royal Guards' 11:15am performance at the Buckingham Palace, so after breakfast we went back to the apartment first. I'll be touring London alone today cause my mum needs more rest due to her back problem.
At 10:40am, I took the tube towards Green Park and followed the signs to Buckingham Palace. The Palace was so crowded and it was surrounded by people! I walked around the palace looking for an empty space to squeeze into, but the best I could see was the Guard's black hats. So I held my camera up high to snap some pictures. I regretted not bringing my selfie stick, I could've reached a higher altitude with that stick. Dang it!
Anyway, I could only listen to the Guards performing songs with trumpets, without having visuals of them doing it. sobs.

There were policemen on horses controlling the crowd, ushering people to keep walking instead of standing still along the walkway.
At 11:30am, I gave up watching the performance. So I walked back to the Green Park station and looked for the bus stop labeled J. There could be a few bus stops with the same name in one area, hence the bus stops will be labeled with different alphabets so that it's easier for the public to differentiate them.

I waited for Bus 14 to go to the British Museum. I followed Citymapper's instruction and got off at Tottenham station and walked for about 10 minutes following Google Maps.
The British Museum has a free admission, but everyone needs to go through security check before we're allowed to enter. There's a long queue for security check when I arrived, but the line moved pretty fast.

The museum was HUGE. There's a common area with cafes that are naturally lit by sunlight coming through the clear roof. I searched the floor map for areas dedicated to the Greeks, and I only roamed that specific area.
After 2 hours in the museum, I was feeling hungry but I didn't have any place in mind for lunch. So I went on with my plans. I left the British Museum and took Bus 14 from Great Russel Road R to Victoria and Albert Museum. It was free to visit this museum as well.
Victoria and Albert Museum is the world's leading museum of art and design, and it has over 4.5 million collections. The museum was named after Queen Victoria and Price Albert. When you enter the museum, you will be greeted by a very unique blue and green chandelier that resembles Medusa's hair.

There weren't any artifacts with Greek influence in this museum though. But they have this very classy looking entrance of a church and a wooden spiral staircase on display that looks really cool.
After wandering around aimlessly, I searched for the John Madejski Garden that features red brick buildings and tall trees that was often used as an advertising image of this museum. People were sitting across the lawn and soaking up the sun. The garden resonates a peaceful vibe and makes me just wanna hang around and do nothing.
There's a indoor cafeteria across the garden as well. But I did not buy anything to eat.

After V&A, I walked over to the Natural History Museum which is right next to V&A. It's free admission for the history museum as well, and like all other museums, you'll have to go through security check before you're allowed to enter.
Once there, I head to the cafeteria to have a look and was instantly attracted by their desserts. I took a can of SanPellegrino Blood Orange fizzy drink, and ordered their Elderflower and Blackcurrant Sponge Cake.
After receiving your orders at the buffet counter, just bring your tray of food to the cashier and pay for it. My cake and beverage costs ₤6.90.

The cake was SO. GOOD. It's not too dry, nor too moist. The cream goes perfectly with the blackcurrant jam oh God! I missed it so much!
I then went back to the main entrance and started my visit in the history museum. There's this super awesome looking dinosaur artifact with a huge fiery globe behind it. It looks amazing!

After taking the escalator up through the fiery globe, I arrived at the Volcanoes and Earthquake exhibition. There's an earthquake simulator that reenacts what happened in Kobe Supermarket in Japan. Other than that, there's also an exhibition on rocks, human evolution, dinosaur, animal and insect artifacts. The animal section alone could take up to 2 hours of your time.
I did not want to miss the Science Museum, so I darted across the history museum's exhibition halls real quick and walked to the Science Museum before it closes, which is right next to the History Museum. The Science Museum isn't as fun as the other science museums I've been to in other countries, because it features less simulation games to play with...plus a lot more staircase to climb.
By 5:50pm, I exited the Science Museum and walked to the Royal Albert bus stop and waited for Bus 9. I then transited at Southampton St/Covent Garden for Bus 15 to Mansion House station, and then I walked to the Millennium Bridge.
I was very thirsty so I stopped by Pret a Manger to buy a Vitamin Berry Smoothie and a Lemon & Ginger beverage.

Millennium bridge was featured in Harry Potter and it looked amazing. The bridge is situated next to two attractions, one on each end: The Tate Modern and St Paul's Cathedral.
I walked around the area until 8pm. I then walked towards London Bridge bus stop and took Bus 43 back to the apartment. My brother came to London today, so I met them up at the Xi An Chinese Restaurant to take-away our dinner.

By 10am, I left for King's Cross Station to visit Platform 9 3/4. There's a Harry Potter gift shop, together with the all famous wall that has half a trolley embedded into it for picture taking sessions.
There was a long queue for the trolley. I don't like taking pictures of myself, so I stood aside and watched the others. I made a quick tour inside the gift shop as well. There are merchandises of every House and also wands of all the lead characters.
I was there for nearly an hour. After that, I walked to St Pancreas International Station A for Bus 91 to Bedfort Street. My sister asked us to get the Crabtree and Evelyn hand creams for her, so I Googled and found this location in the city center.
I bought the hand cream gift box for her that costs ₤28. There was an ongoing promotion whereby if you spend above ₤30, they'll give you a free water bottle that has a built-in filter and you can place fruits or lemons in it to make your own flavored water. So I bought a home spray perfume that costs ₤7 to make the cut.

When I was on my way to Crabtree and Evelyn earlier, I stopped by a pharmacy to look around and ended up buying two bottles of beverages that costs only ₤1 each.
There was a street performance in the common area!
After that, I walked towards the Somerset House for a quick look around.
I then looked at Google Maps and thought that it was possible to walk over to Borough Market cause I'm meeting my mum and bro for lunch later.
Hence I started walking along River Thames and stopped to look at St Paul's Cathedral and Millennium Bridge(again).
Well it WAS possible to walk from Somerset House to St Paul's Cathedral, but it's so tiring and it's quite far apart. I was sweating so much, plus I was carrying the loots I got from Crabtree earlier which was placed in a huge ass paper bag. It was very uncomfortable.

Anyway, I finally arrived at Borough’s Market after an hour of walking.
Borough Market is so beautiful! The stalls are nicely arranged and there are so many things to see and eat!
We bought:
Cod and Chips from Fish! Market at ₤9.95

Prosecco Spritzer for ₤4.
Turkish Delight (one of each flavor) = ₤2.80
The texture resembles gummy bears. But it tastes nice!

Pie and Mash from Pie Minister for ₤6.50.
I ordered a pie named Freeranger which has chicken meat in it.
The mash was nice. As for the pie, the filling and crust ratio wasn't ideal. The crust seems to be a little too thick for my liking.

At 2:20pm, we decided to go back to the apartment by taking Bus 43.
We rested at home cause we'll be leaving for Italy the next day and we do not wish to be too tired for that.
For dinner, we went to a kebab restaurant along the main road. We ordered 2 servings of lamb doner kebab and the portion was HUGE. The kebab was awesome but we just couldn't finish it. We ended up packing the remaining kebabs back for breakfast tomorrow.

We landed at London Stansted Airport from Barcelona, Spain at 5:10pm. The immigration wasn't packed when we were there, so we only took 30 minutes to get pass it. The officer asked quite a few questions and I had trouble hearing properly. My flu caused my ears to be blocked during flight and it lasted for a few days.
Anyway we successfully retrieved our bags and waited for the airport transfer to arrive. We waited for 10-15 minutes before the driver came in and brought us to the car. It took us about an hour to reach the apartment, which costs ₤49.40.
We showered and rested for awhile before my bro and I headed to Oxford Street at 7pm. We took the tube to Holborn station and walked over.

The street was as expected: filled with all kinds of fashion outlets. They're kinda repetitive after a few blocks but they're still nice to shop in!
I only bought a shirt and a pack of panties from Primark. After a while, we took Bus 159 to this ramen shop that my bro recommended: Kanada Ya. It was a 10 minutes bus ride from Oxford Street. |
The restaurant is very compact. We were seated in a one-sided booth that faced the wall.
I ordered Tonkatsu X, and chose the noodles chewiness to be hard to the tooth.
(Tonkatsu X: pork and corn fed chicken bone broth, yuzu-shoyu, chashu pork belly, wood ear fungus, seaweed, spring onion. And it states that it's exclusive to London)
I also ordered a Calpico (Japanese non carbonated milk beverage. It's REALLY nice)
My bro ordered Gekikara with regular chewiness.
(Gekikara: pork bone broth, yuzu-shoyu, spicy 'tan-tan' minced pork belly chashu, wood ear fungus, spring onion, seaweed, beansprouts)
(my brother said it ain't that good)
We paid ₤34.99 for the meal.

I ordered their roasted milk tea with pearls, while my bro got their green milk tea with pudding.
Both drinks totaled to ₤7.40.

I was feeling VERY moody and cranky today because I had so much thoughts in my mind. So I showered and went out alone at 11am. I didn't know where to go, but I just knew that I had to get out of the house.
So I went to Oxford Street by tube. Shopping always makes me happy. I bought two outfits from Bershka and a few seamless underwear from Topman Topshop cause it's on Sale.

I walked along Oxford Street and stopped by every outlet I come across until 2pm. I was hungry and I have always wanted to try Shake Shack.
So I took Bus 6 from Marble Arch/Park Lane to Haymarket/Jermyn Street stop. The Shake Shack that I'm going to is right next to Chinatown.

I joined the ordering queue and got myself a single Meister Shack and a strawberry shake. It costs ₤11.45. They gave me a device that will vibrate when my order is ready. So I took a seat at a corner and waited.
15 minutes later, my device vibrated and I hurried to get my order from the pick-up counter. There's a side station with all the sauces, straws and everything you need for your meal. I took a straw and some tissues, and went back to my seat.

Luckily it ain’t crowded at that time.
The burger is...so shmall!
It fits nicely on my palm. This ain't what burgers should look like...BUT the burger was really good!
I decided that the burger wasn't enough for me. I recalled a burger chain named Five Guys, so I searched it up on Google Maps and followed the suggested route. Five Guys was just a 5-7 minutes walk away.

I bought their little cheeseburger and grilled cheese sandwich plus a banana shake.
Unlike Shake Shack, here in Five Guys I had to wait by the pick-up counter for my number to be called. So the pick-up counter next to the cashier only packs your burgers and sandwiches for you. There's another beverage station for your drinks, which I didn't know of. So after collecting my burger and sandwich, I went straight to get a table. Then I realized: Hey, where's my drink? I head back to the counter. On the way, I saw another counter with someone in there making shakes. So I asked if this is the place to collect my shake. And he said yes. So I waited there cause he was making one at the moment. He handed me that shake on his hand and I wondered how does he knew about my beverage choice It turns out that it was NOT my banana shake. It's strawberry and it tastes like medicine. Ugh. Oh well, it doesn't bother me much. |
I couldn't finish my burger, so I placed it in my backpack and started roaming the streets again. I had no idea where to go, but I know that I don't wanna go home. So I decided to go to a park: St James Park.
I took a bus there and looked for a shaded place to sit. The ground was a little bit wet so I pulled out my backpack's rain cloak and sat on it.

It was nice to breathe in fresh air, to look at the greenery, with cool wind blowing every now and then. I hope Malaysia and Singapore could be as cooling as London. I would never ever suggest a picnic in a garden or park in Malaysia/Singapore cause the weather is so damn hot!
But in London? Sigh I love the weather!

We're finally going back to Malaysia! I've never wanted to end a vacation this badly! 21 days of holiday was just too much for me.
Our flight was at 9:35pm. We slacked at home all day cause we're too lazy to do anything.
My cousin arranged for a car to bring us to Heathrow Airport at 5pm. So we finished packing our luggage and were already waiting at the lounge by 4.45pm.
The driver came around 4.55pm. When my cousin made the booking, he input our luggage quantity to be 2 large and 2 small ones. So they dispatch a driver with a normal sized city car instead of a SUV.
Because we had 3 large 2 small luggage instead of 2 large 2 small luggage as stated, the driver said he'll need to charge ₤5 more for that extra luggage. We had no choice but to agree to it since it's our fault for not indicating our luggage clearly.
The trip towards the airport was HELL. The traffic was slightly heavy, so it took us 1.5 hours to reach the airport. But that wasn't the worse part. His driving skills was the worst that I've ever experienced. Imagine having your momentum being thrown forward, backward, forward, backward, just because he kept accelerating quickly and then hit the brakes hard for just a short distanced road.
Even on a highway, he kept swerving in and out of lanes for fucks' sake! I was so dizzy and wanted to vomit right in his car.
It was a disaster!
The three airport transfers that we had in London...none of them were smooth journeys. Their driving skills SUCKS! Their GPS SUCKS! Their sense of direction SUCKS!
Gosh EnglandTransfers.com please hire better drivers PLEASE!
So once we've checked-in our luggage, we went through security checks/immigration and proceeded to the Sky Lounge for a meal.

We were served two meals throughout the flight.
Even though we departed later than scheduled, but we still arrived in KL on time!
But we still had to rush cause our connecting flight was only an hour away.
But we made it!
And that ends my trip to London!
This post took me forever cause my home WiFi was SO DAMN SLOW
It takes 1 minute to upload 1 picture!
and I have hundreds of pictures!
