I'd like to show off my loots from last week!
As I mentioned earlier, I wanted to get new shoes and camera for my Taiwan trip,
and after weeks of lazying around, I finally bought them!!!

My latest sportie New Balance 530 Encap!
I've been looking at white shoes for awhile now,
but I've always hesitated because whites are so easy to get dirty.
So I spotted this during my last shopping trip in San Ma Lou,
and I bought it!

Next, it's my new camera Casio Exilim ZR2000!
I bought it at MOP2599, and I'm so excited about this one.
For electronic products, I've always went for white colored ones,
next priority would be neutral colored.
But for this model, it only comes in blue, gold orange and black.
Well blue is my favorite color, but I don't usually get tech things in blue.
So I've considered on the golden orangie one.
But I just don't have the guts to pay that much for a color that I'm not 100% positive I'd love it.
So I thought for 3 minutes and bought the blue one.
I have not done analyzing its function, but I'll make sure I do so before leaving for Taiwan.
The fog in Macau was really severe, a lot of flights were delayed and cancelled because of that.
I can only hope for the best for my trip next week.
I HAVE to go to Taiwan!!
Anyway, I've watched this cooking video on the spicy ramen noodle from Korea, and instead of making it as it is, the video taught us to add milk and cheese into the noodle.
It looked extremely good, so I went and bought the ingredients!

I added 3 slices of cheese actually,
and it was too much!
I felt a little nauseated when I finally finish my noodles.
It's still spicy, but not as spicy as it'll get in its normal form HAHA
I added too much milk as well,
so it gets a little too creamy for me.
But it's still good!
It's worth a try.
On a different day, I made my all time favorite Tuna Pasta, with a slice of cheese to cheer me up!
It's just so good.

On Friday, my housemate made Bak Kut Teh and it's awesome as well!
So yesterday was 19th March, and it's my housemate's birthday.
So I went and bought a whole lot of baking supplies,
and made Mille Crepe as his birthday cake.
I didn't know what flavor to make, so I made 3 mille crepes.
On the 18th morning after work, I bought all the things I needed and made the batter first.
I chilled the batter for 5 hours and forcefully woke up at 7pm to pan fry them before work.
The batter: (for 1 cake)
120g all purpose flour
4 tbsp sugar
30g melted butter
200ml milk
2 eggs
4 tsp matcha powder/cocoa powder/whatever flavored powder you want
I chilled the crepes overnight.

After work on 19th March, I rushed back home at 8.30am
and started to work on the whipped cream and fruits.
The 3 mille crepes in mind:
Chocolate Mille Crepe with berries
Mango Mille Crepe
Matcha Mille Crepe
I sliced up the strawberries and chunk up the mangoes.
I placed my mixing bowl and whisk in the freezer for 5 minutes before whipping the cream.
Low temperature is the key to achieve nicely whipped cream in a shorter amount of time.
Whipped cream:
(for all 3 cakes)
600ml whipping cream
6 tbsp sugar
I'm not aiming for whipped cream with soft peaks,
I just need the cream to be thicker and easier to work with.
So I only whipped until I can feel resistance while whipping and I can see clear patterns of my whisking process on the cream.
and started to work on the whipped cream and fruits.

I started with the Matcha Mille Crepe cause it's the easiest without any fruit filling,
it's just one layer of crepe and one layer of cream.
After that I made the Mango Mille Crepe.
I had 21 layers of crepe,
I divided it so that the bottom 7 layers is only crepe and cream,
and then I filled cream and mangoes on top of the 7th layer,
and top it with another 7 layers of crepe and cream only,
after that another layer of cream and mangoes,
followed by the last 7 layers of crepe and cream.
It's better to not place fruits on every layer cause it'll be unstable for the cake and it'll fall apart easily when you cut it.
For my third cake, I've sliced my strawberries rather thinly,
so every layer of it has cream and strawberries.
Before making the final decorations, I chilled the stacked mille crepe in the chiller for around 30 minutes.

There's a few things that I'd improve on the mille crepes,
First I'd add a little more milk to thin out the crepe batter,
and I'll add more matcha powder cause the matcha isn't obvious.
Other than that,
I'm really proud of myself!
and this is the first time I've made mille crepes.
Oh oh!
I've applied for my holiday for Singapore and Korea!
Singapore will be in September
and Korea will be in November.
I'm so happy!!!
