My family and I frequented Calvin's Seafood Porridge which is located in Pulau Tikus.
This stall is located in Cafe Hai Beng,
which is right at the corner of the junction of Jalan Burma and Jalan Jones

The picture showing their menu above is quite blurry, so let me write it down here as well:
Noodle choices:
Bee Hoon 米粉 / Maggie 快熟面 / Mee Sua 面线
or porridge 粥
Ingredients
You can mix different ingredients into the same bowl as well.
To be truthful, this stall belongs to my brother in law. But that's not the only reason why we always come here for dinner or lunch.
First of all, their ingredients are always fresh. When they say big prawns, they really do provide huge ass prawns.
You know that excitement when you see random big prawns in your Char Koay Teow and how you'll save it for the last bite?
Well Calvin's prawns are bigger than that. Let me just find a picture of their prawns to back me up.

The prawns are always 'crunchy', even though it's not deep fried.
You should know how prawns could taste a little 'powdery' when it's not fresh right?
Their prawns were never powdery, THAT I can promise.
Oh and I love their fried grouper as well.
I don't usually order fried fish for my noodle soups because:
1. dry and tough fish meat
2. batter is not crispy
3. the batter will usually separate from the fish meat
But NO! Calvin's are not like that. The batter is crispy and thin, and the fish meat is always so tender and falls apart easily...in a good way.

Disclaimer:
They don't provide just fried fish slices, they'll usually mix in some parts of fish head as well.
You can ask them to separate your fried fish from your soup so that you can enjoy its crispy skin till the very last bite.

Other than their fresh ingredients, their broth is awesome! There's no MSG added to their soup base, so you can drain the entire bowl without any worries and you won't feel thirsty after that.
Yes I have minced pork in every bowl of my noodles. Minced pork for the win!
The other night, we were there with my cousins and relatives for dinner.
My mum bought some crabs that day, and she brought it over to Calvin's so that we can add it into our individual bowls.
But nobody added in their bowls, HAHA so Calvin made a separate claypot for the crabs.
He made it with chinese liquor to get rid of the fishy smell that crabs usually have.
I've asked my sister, and she said yes, customers can bring their own seafood to be cooked by them.
And of course you'll need to pay for their workmanship.

In the first picture, you could see that there's a Loh Mee signboard right above their stall.
That's because they're selling Loh Mee from morning till 3pm-ish,
and seafood porridge/noodles from 12pm - 9pm.

Oh and they used to be in Tuck Sai Cafe near Dato Keramat,
but they've moved to Cafe Hai Beng probably a few months ago?
They're thinking of shortening their business hours, but nothing is confirmed yet.
So stay tuned on their Facebook page for more details.
fyi, they're closed every Thursday.
peace out
