Indigo is a fine dining restaurant situated at the second floor of The Blue Mansion. The Blue Mansion is more commonly known as The Cheong Fat Tze Mansion. It is also a boutique hotel that houses 18 rooms.
A hostess stood by the stairs to greet and escort us to the restaurant. The dining area was GRAND, yet classy at the same time. The chairs were made of wood, and the decorations on each wall is different.
There are even patio seats beyond the glass door that overlooks the parking space. Bird nets were in placed together with dark brown pinoleum blinds.
They offer a one-page menu with a total of 15 dishes in it: 6 appetizers, 6 main courses, and 3 desserts.
We are a party of 6 adults, and we ordered 2 appetizers, 6 main courses and 3 desserts. But before our dishes arrives, we got some bread and butter by the side.
The butter was so good and fragrant. It was a little different from regular butter, and I loved it! The bread has a crispy crust and a soft inside.

with nasi ulam, local fruit salad & turmeric 'n' shellfish dressing

I had the grilled salmon. The salmon was fresh and tasty, so is the nasi ulam underneath it. The salad was so unique though. It comprises of jackfruit, pomelo, cherry tomato, basil leaves, dill, coriander, red onion rings, red dragonfruit and sliced cucumber. The combination of all these ingredients gave the salad a very refreshing finish.

This dessert is VERY interesting. It has a layer of frozen amberella sandwiched between 2 layers of milk chocolate. This is our first time tasting amberella, and not everyone appealed to its flavor. According to Google, it's also known as jew plum, and to me it tastes like dried sliced nutmeg.
The chocolate is meant to mask most of amberella's strong flavor I guess, cause on its own, it's too much for us to handle.

The coconut comes off a bit stronger than the lime flavor. The gateaux isn't the best looking one, but there's effort in making the transparent jelly structure on top on it.
The mango sorbet tastes more like a frozen concentrated mango puree. In my opinion, sorbet are very refreshing desserts, and this mango sorbet is heavier than what I usually had outside.

This is supposed to be molten chocolate cake, or as we always call it, chocolate lava cake. But the chocolate inside has been cooked 80% through. Hence it did not ooze out as we expected, instead it just...moved a bit.
But nonetheless, we still enjoyed it with the ice cream!

It was a very different experience dining at Indigo restaurant. It was quite scary how the side tables tremble when people walk across the restaurant though.
